Our children’s art classes are designed for young artists aged between 8 and 12 years old. Each class brings together students of different abilities, and beginners are always welcome. With individual attention provided within a group setting, children quickly build confidence and develop their artistic skills.
Students are introduced to a wide range of drawing and painting techniques, working with pencil, charcoal, pastels, acrylics, and watercolours. The main focus is on learning to draw and paint from observation, helping students to better understand what they see and to translate that perception into their own creative work.
Throughout the lessons, children explore key artistic principles such as composition, perspective, light and shadow, tone, and texture. They practice by drawing from still life arrangements, landscapes, and photographic studies of the human form and animals. This variety not only strengthens technical skills but also encourages imagination and self-expression.
Each session also introduces students to relevant examples of historical works of art. By learning about artists from different periods and styles, students expand their knowledge of art history while broadening their own artistic range.
These classes provide a structured yet inspiring environment where young learners can grow in confidence, develop essential skills, and enjoy the creative process.
